Abstract

Objective: The objective of this study was to formulate and evaluate poly-herbal shampoo for cosmetic purpose by using Murraya koeniigii leaves, Permotrema reticulatum lichen, Tagatus nebula leaves, Sapindus mukorussi fruits Curcuma cassia and Ritha. Materials and methods: Murraya koeniigii, Permotrema reticulatum, Tagatus nebula, Sapindus mukorussi, Curcuma cassia hydroalcoholic extract were used to create a poly-herbal shampoo. Ayurvedic cosmetics are also referred to as herbal cosmetics since the natural components of herbs have no negative effects on the body. The majority of herbal supplements are made from a variety of botanical elements that have a long history of use in traditional or folk medicine. Cosmetics by themselves are insufficient to take care of skin and other body parts because many chemical toxins and microorganisms found in the atmosphere can lead to chemical infection and damage to skin. A variety of evaluation criteria, including organoleptic properties, pH, foam height and retention, skin irritation, and others, were used to assess a poly-herbal shampoo. Results: The colour of the polyherbal shampoo formulation was brown. Shampoo was discovered to have a pH of 5.47, which is close to skin pH. The shampoo's formulation proved effective foam stability, detergency, cleaning, and conditioning. The shampoo's physicochemical evaluation confirmed its greatest outcomes. But further research is needed to improve the product's overall performance, safety, and quality. Conclusion: The study of the poly-herbal shampoo's results showed that it is the best hair cosmetic for use on people. The usage of multi-herbal shampoo can help avoid hair problems.
